I installed in a new XP pro SP3 computer. Like a previous reviewer stated: it told me the version was outdated and I should try downloading it from the AVG website instead. The website I was directed to downloaded a corrupted file. I tried more than one to download the file. Each time it was corrupted and I have an excellent DSL connection
I decided to install the version on the CD. It may be working properly but I cannot active thus instead of an expiration date I have a “Not Activated” message. Not sure if it is working. No phone support. Have sent a email and expect it will be another of those frustrating email exchanges where the support end DOES NOT READ what I sent and I have to send multiple emails before and IF it is resolved.
Not such a good deal
AVG Anti virus is easy to install , works pretty good so far , shipping is quick too , nice product for 20 bucks !
If you want to loose all you files and spend a lot of money to get your computer fixed buy this one, I had a subscription to AVG and when subscription expired and I didn’t renew, AVG froze all my files giving me a message I had a virus and giving me a screen to enter my credit card number to renew, I took the computer to a professional and he knew immediately what happened “AVG sabotaged your computer”, he uninstalled the AVG and the computer didn’t have any virus.
Have a VAIO laptop with Vista-64Bit. After Microsoft’s Virus Scanner expired I got Kaspersky 2010. That made my Windows really unstable and boot-up time considerably increased. I un-installed Kaspersky and got AVG. Since then the laptop hasn’t had a single crash and boot-up time has been normal. Given that, I give this product 5 stars. Oh I forgot to mention that AVG is cheaper than Kaspersky.
This product was delivered in good condition and works well with my computer.
It does lack a quick scan option which some other antivirus products have.
