When implementing a server into any business careful consideration on where the hardware is going to be located needs to be taken into account.

Before buying a server and throwing under one of the sales people’s desk ask yourself the following questions:

• What purpose will the server have?
• What kind of data will be on the server?
• Will the server be mission critical?
• Where will the server be placed?

These simple four questions can tell us a lot about the importance of the server but more importantly can allow us to plan for any unseen future events.
