I had the previous edition and it was due for renewal. I ordered the 2010 3-license version. I loaded the 2010 program and it immediately stated that the NEW program was seriously out of date and that I had a choice of loading the out of date program and then getting the updates or just bypassing this version and downloading from the site. It played havoc with my computer and I could not get it to function. I returned it.

I did not have any problems with the 2009 version.

What a disappointment it was to find out, after I bought this program, that it doesn’t perform the full range of protection functions that Norton Internet Security does. True – it doesn’t take up as much room on my PC’s hard drive as does Norton; however, I’d rather have a larger program that protects my computer completely than a smaller program that leaves a gaping hole in my Internet protection. I didn’t even install the program – just put it back in the box and donated it. I’ve since gone back to Norton.

I purchased this from Amazon .. BUT .. Since I have been a KAV user for years, I posted some questions on their forum concerning Win-7 on my wife’s new computer and my upgrade from KAV-2009 on my XP-Pro box. I got a reply within minutes recommending that I uninstall 2009 and then download the latest version of 2010 (*.736) because it was THE latest and to use the product key on the box I got from Amazon to register both installs. Both installs progressed without incident(s). And BTW, I opted to save settings when uninstalling my 2009 and the new 2010 picked up the settings. Where some of the reviewers get the notion that Kaspersky won’t support the Amazon purchased 2010 is strictly a myth.

Why new computers don’t come with anti-spyware already installed is beyond me. Of course, the monetary motive is perhaps the only reason why spyware isn’t installed on new computers.

Downloading was a breeze. There are a lot of peripherals that are on the CD; not being a techno geek I ultimately have to take on faith that all the extra bytes are there for a reason. Kapersky performed as expected–keeping the nasty guys out of my laptop.

Overall, I’m happy with my purcase. The article came in a timely manner.

Some anti virus software will slow down your computer but this one does not. It just works silently in the background.
