I purchased this product because my antivirus was about to expire. Panda recommended getting IS 2010 on their website. The product is supposedly Windows 7 ready. I could not install the product. I then went to the Panda website. On the Panda website they had an IS 2010 version download that they claimed was also Windows 7 ready. It would not install on my Windows 7 professional 32 bit system. I then opened a ticket with Panda tech support stating the above. UNFORTUNATELY I have been playing email tag with tech support. THIS has been a common problem which I have had in the past with Panda.
After having different Internet Security softwares,Panda IS 2010 is working much better. I had no problem installing this product. The tech support people are very responsive. This internet security doesn’t slow your computer down.
There is no better security system for home or business computers. It has the highest level of protection available.
I have compared it to Norton, Mc Afee, and others, it blows them all away. It does not slow down the operating system like other products do. Although it may be challenging to install in some systems, it’s still the best choice by far, and on Amazon I get the best price.
This Internet security is ideal for windows XP systems, and will have an easy time installing in most cases.
Installing this in Vista or Windows 7 will require some patience. These two operating systems make it difficult to install almost any software or drivers, not just Panda Security. The firewall and windows defender should be shut off while installing this, otherwise it may not install correctly.
But you should not blame Panda for these difficulties, these are operating system issues, not Panda issues.
Panda did move tech support to an outsource, and this was a big mistake. They should have kept the customer support in the USA. I am rather disappointed that they outsourced tech support.
But still, the highest protection for the lowest price on Amazon adds up to a great deal, too good a deal to ignore… I install it in all my friends computers, and they love it. I ordered two sets for the coming year.
My initial product review was for Panda IS 2007, which you can read elsewhere on this site. I’m adding a review here to warn any potential buyers that Panda believes your purchase of their product entitles them to keep you on their marketing email list FOREVER, even if you go through the process of unsubscribing a number of times, as I have. Since unsubscribing from Panda’s software service in the fall of 2007, I continue to receive marketing emails about once a month, despite repeated requests to be taken off their lists. Unless you want to receive spam FOREVER, I’d suggest looking elsewhere for paid internet security suites.
As far as the software itself goes, you can read my main review of Panda but it looks like more recent users are still having the major problems I listed: poor set up, unclear instructions & essentially non-existent tech support.
Attention Panda: If you keep spamming me, I will keep putting up negative reviews of your products.
I have been a user of Panda internet security for the past 10 years.
In the past when they handled Tech support, they were very helpful.
Since they have outsourced their front line tech support to overseas, they have reduced their support hours and tech support doesn’t have the knowledge they should have. When they couldn’t help me and I asked to speak to a supervisor, they said he wasn’t available and would call me back, which he never did. Once you get thru to the main tech support (who used to be the only tech support) you can get some help. The program is good, but beware of needing tech support.
